TRENTON - Our beloved Aunt, Irene Clare Demko Soltesz, 93, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday at Hamilton Continuing Care.|
Born June 18, 1919, in Windburne, Pa., she lived in Trenton for most of her life. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Herman Mosovich, DDS, in Trenton, until his death in 1963.
Aunt Irene was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish and its Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Friday Prayer Group held in Yardville. An active parishioner of St. Stephen King of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, she was a member of its Catholic Club and Rosary Society. At St. Stephen's, Aunt Irene also cleaned the church and rectory, helped at the Friday night bingos and Sunday Social Teas, sang in the choir and participated in other parish activities until it closed.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Sr. and Barbara Jeviczki Demko, sister of the late Agnes (Frank) DeJoseph, Joseph (Anna), Andrew (Rose) and John (Elsie P.) Demko, and two little brothers, both named Adam, wife of the late Stephen J. "Pete" Soltesz, and aunt of the late Louis Demko and his wife, Sharon.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she considered her children, including Joseph A. III and Eileen R. Demko of Whiting, and their children, Joseph Demko of Robbinsville, and Stephen Demko, and his wife, Lisa, and their children Kristina, Steven and Cassandra Demko, all of Hamilton Township; Andrew J. and Anna Demko of Yardville, and their children Andrew S. "Drew" Demko of New York City and London, and Katherine and her husband, George Pryce, and their children Jennifer and George Pryce of Hamilton; Eileen R. Demko of Trenton; John Dennis Demko of Yardville, and his daughter Jessica L. Muszynski of New Orleans; Elza J. Demko of Bordentown; Melissa A. Demko of Trenton and Robert E. Dansbury of Newtown, Pa.; Brian J. Demko of Trenton, and his children, Nicholas J. and Erin E. Demko of Hightstown; and cousins, Julius and Elizabeth Timko of Trenton, and their daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Charles Holtzman and Ildiko and Jamaal Green, all of Hamilton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Church, 626 South Olden Ave., Trenton. Burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Chambers D'Errico & Correnti Funeral Home, 825 Chambers St., Trenton.
