PHILADELPHIA - Crosby Copeland, III, "Pops," 54, of Philadelphia departed this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.|
Born in Trenton, N.J., Crosby was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and continued his education at Grambling State University and Claflin University. He served in the United States Air Force for two years.
He was employed by the Volunteers of America non-profit organization as a lieutenant of security. He was also employed as a property manager for C&C Real Estate Holdings, LLC. He volunteered as a mentor at numerous drug rehabilitation centers and halfway houses in the Philadelphia area. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Trenton, N.J., and was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Crosby is survived by two sons, Joshua and Jason Copeland; his parents, Rose and Crosby Copeland, Jr.; a brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Christi Copeland; a nephew, Blake Copeland, a niece, Courtney Copeland; and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson, Jr. Way, Trenton, N.J. Interment will be in Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing, N.J. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the church.
