HAMILTON - Gary R. Lipton, PhD, 73, of Hamilton Square, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.|
Born in Bronx, N.Y., Gary haD been a Hamilton resident since 1987. Dr. Lipton was a biology and entomology professor emeritus at TCNJ. He worked with many graduating student teachers and nursing students whom he later became a patient of. Gary was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, working in their RCIA, bible study, and bingo programs. He enjoyed reading, music, history, and sports, being a Giants, Yankees and Rangers fan. Gary was a member of the Railroad Historical Society and enjoyed building and running model trains. Gary loved so many things in life, but mostly his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. (Welsh) Lipton; his children, Gregory Lipton of Somerset, Glen and his wife Ivy Lipton of Jamesburg and Jessica Lauren Lipton of Portland, Maine; his two grandchildren, Nathan and Avery Lipton; his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and George Israel of Long Island, N.Y.; also survived by his in-laws, Lorie, Margi (Vince), Paul (Maureen), Diane and Mike (Sue); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will begin on Friday, June 21, at 9:30 a.m., at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 21, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
