Elder Anthony Clifford James

Obituary Condolences

TRENTON - Elder Anthony Clifford James was born February 7, 1958 to Gwendolyn Evelyn McAllister and Clifford James. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Hopewell.
Anthony was a lifelong resident of Trenton. He was educated in the Trenton public school system and graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1976. He was employed at the YMCA, Colonial Bowling Lanes, Trenton Central High School, City of Trenton Recreation Department, MOD Rehabilitation Housing, and currently at Mount Carmel Guild in Trenton.
Anthony served in the United States Army National Guard from 1976-1985 and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Greater Impact of Praise Church under the leadership of Apostle Keith D. Jones.
Predeceased by his mother, Gwendolyn, Anthony leaves to cherish his memories his father, Clifford James; seven children, Antonio Barnes, Calvin James, Michael James (Tiffany), Jerome Hilton (Debra), Joanna James, Michael Sutton and Evelyn James; two brothers, Robert James and Benjamin James; 10 grandchildren, Quinton, Zion, Destiny, Armani, Atiya and Caljar Barnes, Autumn Hilton, Jordan and Jailin James, and Jakob James-Watkins; two uncles, Roger McAllister (Francis) and Eldridge Thomas (Susan); one aunt, Noris; a special friend, Gail Porter; the Austell and Spadey Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon on July 3, at Greater Word to the World Ministries, 31 W. Front St., Trenton. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon on July 3 at the church. Interment Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
