TRENTON - Charles Albert Perry Sr. was born on November 9, 1929 in Trenton to Harry and Beulah Johnson-Perry. He passed away on June 26, 2013 at the Water's Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton.|
Charles was educated in and graduated from the Morrisville public grammar and high school district. After his graduation Charles enlisted in the military where he moved up to the rank of sergeant. While in the military Charles proudly served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. After his discharge Charles joined Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd Church (now known as The Church of the Blessed Sacrament-Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd) where he was a member of the men's organization, a Homeless Meals on Wheels volunteer, and a member of the choir.
Charles was united in Holy Matrimony to Jean Fredericka Bridgewater-Perry. This union was blessed with three children. Charles was a devoted husband and dedicated father. Charles was also a hard working man. He had worked for General Motors for 40 years before he retired in 1992. For relaxation he liked to bowl, and listen to his religious radio broadcast.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Jean F. Perry, his son, John T. Perry, parents, Harry and Beulah Johnson-Perry, brothers, Harry E. Perry and George T. Perry.
Charles' memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his children, Grace H. Perry-Bradley, Charles A. Perry Jr., both of Trenton; grandchildren, Victoria Jenks (Jay), James Bradley (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Rashine Arrington Jr., Jaion Jenks; brother, Louis Perry (Sylvia) of Virginia, sisters, Gladys Perry-Reid of Edgewater Park, Margaret Perry-Davis of Levittown, Pa.; sister-in-law, Ella Johnson-Perry of Willingboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament-Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd, 716 Bellevue Ave., Trenton. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
