Obituary Condolences

Virginia T. "Ginny" (DeFeo) Festa, 79, of Ewing, died peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, Mrs. Festa was a lifelong area resident. She retired from the Department of Environmental Protection as the Executive Administrator to the Commissioner after more than 25 years of service with the State of New Jersey, prior to working for the Commissioner she worked for the Department of Transportation as well. She was a graduate of Trenton High School Class of 1952. Ginny was a parishioner of St. James Church in North Trenton for the past 79 years, she was baptized there, served as both a lay minister and a Eucharistic minister, was a member of its Altar Rosary Society, a former president of its Senior Citizens Club, and a member of the San Calogero Society as well. She loved to vacation with her friends from church, and was a loving and devoted mother, wife, and grandmother.
Daughter of the late Pasquale and Frances (Inverso) DeFeo, beloved wife of the late John Joseph Festa, Sr., sister of the late Jerry DeFeo, she is survived by her two devoted children; John Festa, Jr. and wife Erin; Frances and her husband David Harris; five beloved grandchildren; Elaine; Elizabeth; Morgan; Caroline; and Jack; a brother; Frank DeFeo and wife Grace; her loving caregiver for the past four years; Gloria Aduku; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (July 22) at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 29 East Paul Ave., Trenton, NJ. Family and friends may call at the church prior to mass from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Burial will follow in Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Rd., Ewing, NJ.
