Obituary Condolences

Frederick (Sonny) W. Bernhardt, Jr., 80, of Yardville, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Lawrenceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lawrenceville.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Bernhardt was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army Airborne Division. He was a patrolman with the N.J. Department of Corrections in Trenton, and retired after over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Bordentown Elks 2085.
Predeceased by his parents, Frederick W. and Emma Bernhardt, Sr., his sister, Dorothy (Dot) Foster and his brother, Bill Bernhardt, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Frederick W. III and Deborah Bernhardt; his grandchildren; Heather Ottavi and her husband Brandon; and Cynthia Bernhardt; his great-grandchildren; Kayleigh Edwards and Mason Ottavi; his brothers; Robert; John and Charles Bernhardt; his sisters; Lillian Mauro; Jean Cavallo and Emma Bates; his sister-in-law; Ann Bernhardt; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 25) at 11:30 a.m. at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
