Roberta M. Gibbs MILAN, TN - Roberta M. Gibbs, 77, departed this life on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Jackson, TN. Born in Wadesboro, NC, she was educated in the public school systems of Wadesboro and later in Hamilton Township, NJ where she lived for over 60 years. She retired from General Motors, Fisher Body Plant, Ewing, NJ after many years of service. Mrs. Gibbs was a faithful member of St. Phillips Baptist Church of Hamilton, NJ and later, First Baptist Church of Pennington, NJ where she served with the Missionary and Usher ministries. She relocated to Milan, TN in 2011 where she attended Agape Christian Fellowship Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Rose M. Barrett-Logan-Roberson and Eugene Hinson, stepfather, Jesse Logan, Sr., and one brother, Jesse Logan, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond T. Gibbs; 2 daughters, Diane Gibbs of Milan, TN. and Lenora Allen (Kenneth) of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Raymond Gibbs, Jr. (Lucy) of Hamilton, NJ; 2 granddaughters, Fhteachia Andrews (Andre`) of Milan, TN and Nicolet Gibbs of Maryland; 3 great-grandsons, DeAndre` Andrews of Jackson, TN, Davon and Darius Andrews, both of Milan, TN; one great-great-granddaughter, Madallyn Andrews of Jackson, TN; one brother, Alvin Hinson of Queens, NY; 4 sisters, Nadine Burrell (Thomas) of Richmond, VA, Catherine Mitchell of Queens, NY, Doris Randall of Brooklyn, NY and Patricia Hall of Barnegat, NJ; one uncle, Eddie Tate and one aunt, Alice Sloan, both of Trenton; her surrogate brother, Samuel Hutchinson of Bowie, MD; 2 longtime friends, Elsie Glover and Marie Griffith, both of Trenton and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Pennington/The Lighthouse, 715 Bellevue Ave., Trenton. Calling hours from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Entombment will be at Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton Twp., NJ. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service.
