Gertrude (Green-Griffith) Smith EWING - Gertrude (Green-Griffith) Smith, 89, of Ewing, departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Inspira Hospital in Vineland, NewJersey. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Smith was a lifelong area resident. Gertrude "Gertie" was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and valedictorian at Lincoln Junior High. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital and North Princeton Developmental Center, Skillman, NJ. She was a member of the Mount Sinai Seventh-Day Adventist Church and served many years as Community Service Leader. Predeceased by her parents, William and Annie Mae Green; her husband, Alfred Griffith; a daughter Joyce Smith; siblings, Loradeen Conover, William Green, Richard Green, Thomas Green, Mildred Broxton, Joyce Austin. Gertie is survived by her loving husband, Glen Smith; sons, Abdul Griffith (Valerie), Edwin Griffith (Cheryl), Marvin Griffith (Pier) and Glen Pete Smith (Anna); daughters, Ma'Rita Saunders, Caroline and Millicent Smith; grandchildren, great-grand children, sisters: Fannie Mae Simmons and Patricia Hicks; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Mount Sinai Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 35 Arlington Avenue, Trenton, NJ. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday, November 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
