Louise M. Hilton Obituary
HAMILTON - Louise M. Hilton, age 101, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Monday morning, April 21, 2014, at the Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton, NJ. Daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Marianni Cracker, Louise was born and raised in South Trenton and was also a resident of both the Yardville and the Hamilton Square areas for many years. She was a 1932 graduate of the Secretarial Studies Division of Rider College, worked as a stenographer and executive secretary in many State of New Jersey offices and agencies, and in 1978, retired with twelve years of service from the McGraw-Hill Publishing Co., East Windsor, NJ. Louise was a lifelong parishioner and member of the Altar Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church in Trenton, and was also a past president of the Sacred Heart School PTA. A talented musician and singer, she devoted many hours to volunteer piano playing and leading sing-a-longs at the Rose Hill Assisted Living in Robbinsville, and at the Mercerville Care Center, and the Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton. Louise was predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Peter N. (Nick) and Marie Crocker, Leonard P. and Marie Cracker; by brother William C. Cracker; by sisters and brothers-in-law Helen and Vincent Gambi and Rita and Jim Jones; by brother-in-law Frank Repko. She was also predeceased by two younger brothers, Raymond and Felix, both of whom died in early childhood, and by her former husband John J. Hilton, Sr. Surviving are her son John J. Hilton and partner Joe Hewitt of Hamilton, son Louis P. Hilton of Pennington, son and daughter-in-law Phillip C. and Kathy Hilton and grandchildren Peter N. and Rachael M. Hilton of Warwick, RI. Louise is also survived by sister Anna Repko of Levittown, PA and by sister and brother-in-law Alice and John Momrock of Newtown, PA, as well as by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and by two very dear friends, Mary Stahl and Marie Burek. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the administration, social activities, physical therapy, nursing and direct-care staff members of the Hamilton Continuing Care Center for the kindness, attentive care, concern and friendship Louise experienced during her extended stay with them. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville Allentown Rd. in Yardville with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 AM in St. Vincent DePaul Church in Yardville. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 PM until 8 PM at the memorial chapel.
