George M. Pivik Obituary
George M. Pivik, of Renton, Plum Borough, died peacefully with his family at his side Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018. He was born June 18, 1931, to George and Amelia (Kern) Pivik. He was a coal miner, employed by CONSOL Coal Company at Renton mine and later worked as a custodian for the Plum Borough School District. He was a member of St. Januarius Church and the UMWA. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary V. Pivik; daughter, Janice (Gary) Bowser, of Cheswick; sons, David (Kerri) Pivik, of Washington, Pa., Dennis Pivik, of O'Hara Township, and George A. Pivik (Chip), of New York, N.Y.; grandchildren, Matthew (Alix) Bowser, David Pivik and Alysa Pivik; great-grandchildren, Madeline and Violet Bowser; a sister, Amelia Massimino, of Renton; and a brother, Ronald Pivik, of Taramac, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pivik.
Friends are being received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at the STEPHEN P. DOLENCE Jr. FUNERAL HOME INC., 1519 Renton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15239. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, in St. Januarius Church by the Rev. John McKenna. Burial will be at Plum Creek Cemetery.
