Kathleen M. Burns, 69, of Plum Borough, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, following a hard-fought battle with cancer. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert A.; she ws the cherished mother of Donna (Daniel) Herrington, Robert W. (Kelly) Burns and Michael A. Burns; loving grandmother of Rachel, Marisa, Abigail, Robert J. and Caitlyn; sister of William Delahanty, Edward Delahanty, Sheila Merwin and Dennis Delahanty; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Kathy was known for her funny quick wit and her fun pranks. She worked as a lunch lady at the Plum school district for more than 30 years before retiring and never forgetting a face. She was known for her generosity and kind spirit. She loved cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed crocheting. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed being with her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She was a member of Our Lady of Joy Parish, Plum.
A private family service and gathering will be held to honor her. Arrangements were entrusted to SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES LTD.

Burns family, so sorry for your loss. Kathy was one of the best food service employees that ever worked for PBSD. She was always kind to the children and never was impatient or irritated at anyone. She always had a smile on her face, was hard working and I wished I could have had 30 more employees just like her.
