Larry Villani Manhattan, N.Y., formerly of Bridgeville Larry "Babe" Villani, 92, of Manhattan, N.Y., formerly of Bridgeville, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012. He was the son of the late August Villani and Emira Bigi Villani. Larry was one of 13 children. He left for New York with only 100 in his pocket and his talents were immediately recognized by the Broadway Theater industry. Larry auditioned for Mike Todd and landed a part in a Broadway show. He worked with such notable show business personalities as Billie Holiday, Carey Grant, Marilyn Monroe and Mae West, to name a few. He appeared in "Hello Dolly", "The Way We Were" and had a long run with the "The Edge of Night". Some of Larry's last comments to his family were that he had spent his life living his dream and was ready to be with the Lord. Larry studied theater and dance at the former Pittsburgh Playhouse and during World War II served as a medic in the Army. He was the brother of the late Gene "Tex", Richard, Aldo "Buck", Hugo "Hudge", Dante, Antonio "Bugs", Jim, Nello Villani, Lillian Fiorentini and Anita Zinger. He is survived by Olga Watson, of Virginia, and Malfalda "Muff" Garner, of Bridgeville; uncle of Terry, Don, George, Billy, Tanna, Jimmy, Biff, Elmer, Arnold, Lois and Jerri. Friends are being received from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the BEINHAUER-FRYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 430 Washington Ave., Bridgeville (412-221-3800).
