Harry W. Aiken

Harry W. Aiken, 75, of Penn Township, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born March 13, 1938, in New Castle, a son of the late Harold and Mae Cartwright Aiken. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a millwright for US Steel, Irvin Works. He was a veteran of the USMC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin, Howard, and Jim Aiken. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darleen Sarada Aiken; two sons, Jim Aiken and wife, Renee, of Penn Township, and John Aiken and partner, Jeff Richardson, of Raleigh, N.C.; a granddaughter, Haley; and a brother, Robert Aiken, of Lower Burrell. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. A private prayer service will then be held at noon with Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini officiating. Interment will be private in Lafayette Cemetery, Briar Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harry's name may be made to the Special Olympics, 215 Donahue Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
