Alexander Kormos Obituary
Alexander Kormos, 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Walden's View. He was born June 28, 1925, in Wendel, W.Va., a son of the late George and Esther Kormos. Alexander was a member of St. Agnes Parish, North Huntingdon, and a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. Prior to his retirement, Alexander was employed as an assistant manager for A&P, worked for Westinghouse Airbrake and was a USPS mail carrier. He enjoyed reading westerns, walking and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Patricia Schlereth Kormos; brother, George Kormos; and sister, Margaret Skiba. He is survived by his son, Richard and his wife, Cheryl; three daughters, Patricia Zvonar and her husband, Steve, Pamela Kormos, and Caroline Zihmer and her husband, Joseph; sister, Helen Holmes; grandchildren, Bethany Kormos, Patrick Kormos (Sara) and Michael Zihmer; and great-grandchildren, Alexander and Howard.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
