George H. Lepovsky Obituary
George H. Lepovsky, 94, of Penn Hills, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. He was the beloved husband for 69 years of Mary (Vasilisin) Lepovsky; loving father of Richard (Sheila) Lepovsky, Marilyn (Les) Yon and Jodi (Eric) Zelenske; grandfather of Todd, Christopher, Nicholas, Courtney, Tyler and Travis and five great-grandchildren; and brother of Rita Jaso. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters and is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. George proudly served his country in the Army, 29th Infantry Division, landing on D-Day at Omaha Beach where he was wounded and later became a prisoner of war. He was a longtime member of North Bessemer Volunteer Fire Department. The Lepovsky family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the VAMC, H.J. Heinz Campus Unit 1-South for their compassionate care extended to George during his stay there.
Friends were received at MAURICE L. KNEE LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Road (across from S&T Bank), Plum, PA 15239. A Mass of Christian burial was on Monday at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Interment with military honors followed in Plum Creek Cemetery.
