John A. Smith Obituary
John A. "Smitty" Smith, 84, of Penn Township, formerly of Turtle Creek, went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2016. He was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Pittsburgh, to the late George and Helen Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by beloved son, Paul R. Smith; brothers, Robert and Frank Smith; and sister, Jeanne Glessner. Smitty is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Ginther Smith; loving children, Deborah (Glenn) Morsey, Diane (Charlie) Hughes, Shelly (Vince) Kratochvil and John (Sue Murphy) Smith; nine grandchildren, Tamara (Jason) Inman, Michael Paul Morsey, John III, Jason and Sarah Smith, Chris (Matt) Skiffen, Tony (Amanda), Stephen and Victoria Kratochvil; five great-grandchildren, Max, Kyle, Angel, Tyler Paul and Bentley; siblings, Jerry, Jim, Tom, Pat, Bill and Denny Smith and Kay Shortman and Carol Holmes; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bea and Neil Curran and Bob and Melva Ginther; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, in Community United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Ciampa officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery-Denmark Manor.
