Michael R. McCormack Obituary
Michael Rory McCormack, 72, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home, in Midlothian, Va., with his family by his side. He was born June 30, 1945, in Sewickley, to Francis Patrick and Margaret Marie (O'Hara) McCormack. Michael grew up in Leetsdale and graduated from Quaker Valley High School. After high school, he honorably served in the Air Force for four years. He then worked for US Steel, Bell, P.D.M., Adamson/Old Dominion Fabricators, and finally Virginia Power, where he retired after 20 years. Michael was happily married to Beverly J. (Roycroft) McCormack for 44 years. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, Richmond, Va., for 40 years. His passions included reading, photography, art exhibits, gardening and lifelong education. He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. (Roycroft) McCormack, of Midlothian, Va.; son, Colonel R. Brian McCormack, USA, of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter, Megan (Robert) Dodge, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; his brother, Dennis (Michelle) McCormack, of Bonita, Calif., his brother, Brendan (Catherine) McCormack, of Amelia, Va.; and his grandchildren, Anne Marie McCormack, Joseph Patrick McCormack, Madeleine Elizabeth Dodge and Maxwell Lane Dodge. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret McCormack, and his brother, Brian McCormack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow at Jackson's restaurant, Double Tree Hotel, Moon Township.
