Deborah Claire Harmon, 59, of Whitehouse, Texas, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the Hospice of East Texas. She was born Aug. 7, 1954, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Leo William and Irma Katherine Niederberger Miller. Deborah was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Mrs. Harmon graduated from Texas Eastern School of Nursing and worked for Trinity Mother Frances Hospital as a pediatric nurse. She served in the US Army Security Agency. Deborah enjoyed reading in her spare time. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 39 years, Deacon Curtis Harmon, of Whitehouse; daughters, Lisa Hoekstra and husband, Andrew, of Bellview, Neb., and Kimberly McKeown and husband, James, of Tyler; sons, Christopher Harmon and wife, Fumie, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Jonathan Harmon, SJ, of Dallas, Texas, Ross Harmon and wife, Mindy, of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Alexander Harmon, of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Abigail, Audrey and Adam Hoekstra, Claire Marie McKeown and Izabella Rose Harmon; brothers, David, Dennis, Douglas and Daniel Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was scheduled from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Flint. Requiem Mass for Deborah Claire Harmon, 59, of Whitehouse, was held Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at 6 p.m. in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Flint, with Bishop Joseph Strickland and the Rev. Timothy Kelly officiating, under the direction of STEWART FAMILY FUNERAL HOME. If desired, memorials may be made to Acker Hanks Senior Center, 118 Railroad Ave., Whitehouse, TX 75791.
