Carol J. King Obituary
Carol J. King, 80, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, following a long struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Ralph and Jane (Snyder) Zoerb, and was raised in Aspinwall. She graduated from Aspinwall High School and went to the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a registered nurse in the class of 1958. Carol is survived by her husband, James of 59 years; and their three children, Carolea and Stuart Hayden, of Granville, Mass., James and Andrea, of Rochester, N.Y.; Theodore, of Utica, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. They moved to Utica, N.Y. in 1966 and lived there until they retired and built their dream home on Cape Cod in 1998. The couple traveled extensively and camped in 49 states as well as most of Canada's provinces. Carol was a member of the Presbyterian Hospital Alumni, Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary (where she was known as "the Penny Parade Lady"), Nauset Newcomers (a founding member of the Nurses Group), Eastham United Methodist Church and the Brewster C.O.A. Over her lifetime, she held many nursing positions and was very active in Girl Scouting in Utica. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother.
Carol will be cremated, so there will be no service at this time.
