Donald Campbell Obituary
Donald "Lee" Campbell, 86, of O'Hara Township, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. He had battled the ravages of Parkinson's Disease and kidney failure for many years. He was born to Leland and Roamia Virginia Campbell near Oquawka, Ill., Oct. 17, 1931. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma (King); a daughter, Elizabeth, of Ligonier; and a son, William, of Blawnox. Lee left behind three surviving sisters, Louise (Gene) Crawford, of Pocatello, Idaho, Marie (the late Wendell) Fisher, of Stronghurst, Ill., and Elsie (the late Richard) Morris, of Gladstone, Ill. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol (surviving Clarence) Huntley, of Peoria, Ill.; and a brother, William "Dean" (Karen), of Biggsville, Ill. After attending the University of Illinois, Lee had a long career with PPG Industries, from which he retired as director of the Corporate Data Center. He spent many years traveling with Wilma by his side. He loved his family, his friends and his flower garden. Lee had served his community and his country as councilman of the Second Ward, O'Hara Township, Board of Directors for the Laurie Ann West Memorial Library and on the O'Hara Township History Book Committee. He was a military veteran, Specialist 3rd Class (Corporal).
Visitation was held Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY LTD., 930 Center Ave., Blawnox, PA 15238, where friends and family gathered Friday, March 2, 2018, followed by a funeral service at Pine Creek Presbyterian Church in Fox Chapel. Interment followed.
