G.Ross Rhodes Obituary
George Ross Rhodes, 64, of Aspinwall, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018. He was son of the late George Johnson Rhodes, M.D., and Helen Robinson Rhodes; beloved husband of the late Sharon L. Leech; brother of Janet (Dan) Rhodes Friedman, of Concord, Mass., and Bruce W. Rhodes of Framingham, Mass.; brother-in-law of Fred (JoEllen) Leech, Chris (Mary Beth) Leech and the late Tony (surviving wife, Susan) Leech; and uncle of Hannah and Benjamin Friedman, Helena and Jackson Rhodes, and Katie (Matt Kretschmer), Annie, Tommy, Beth, Jack, Patrick, Chris, Maggie, Brendan and Gannon Leech. Ross graduated from Columbia University in 1976 with a degree in music theory and received his J.D. in 1986 from Cornell University Law School. He worked as an attorney for many years but will be best remembered as a loving family man and treasured friend. A man of many interests, he was passionate about music, film, polar bears, the environment, the Pirates, the Penguins, cooking, travel and science fiction.
There is no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Highland Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to Polar Bears International or the ASPCA. Arrangements are by WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall.
