Walter M. Gladkowski Jr. Obituary
Walter M. Gladkowski Jr., 78, of Export (Washington Township), died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. He was born in McKeesport to Helen Kosiarek Gladkowski, of Export, and the late Walter M. Gladkowski. Walt is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Louise Ellsworth Gladkowski; children, Walter M. "Michael" Gladkowski III, and Brenda (Michael) DeMonica; grandsons, Nicholas and Jason DeMonica; sister, Judith Shank; aunt, Sophie Kosiarek Mandella; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Cindy) and Howard (Sarah) Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Walt was a graduate of Penn State University (Delta Sigma Phi) and a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association. He practiced landscape architecture and site planning. Walt was a member of St. Bernadette Parish, Italian American Club in Export, Export Moose, Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen's Club, Teutonia Mannerchor, Murrysville Senior Center, Silver Sneakers (Delmont), the NRA, and National Wildlife Turkey Federation. Walt enjoyed his family, friends, hunting, fishing, flying radio-controlled airplanes, and watercolor painting.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at JOBE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL), corner of Beatty Road and 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at St. Bernadette Parish, Monroeville, with Father Tony Gargotta as celebrant. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
