Catherine "Kay" (Dickson) Hess, 76, of Indiana, Pa., formerly of Englewood, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018.She was born Feb. 20, 1942, in Braddock, to the late Robert and Marguerite Dickson. Kay graduated from Franklin Area High School and Prince George County Community College in Largo, Md., for nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse and was a veteran of the Navy. After her many successes, she traveled the country, being recruited as director of the O.R. and everyone loved her everywhere she went. She was an all around avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She coached and taught her kids and others in many sports. She worked hard to give everything she had for her family, and when she had nothing left, she'd give them more. Kay is survived by her children, Kimberly (John) Kieck, of Englewood, Fla., Jere (Lisa) Hess, of Lutts, Tenn., Mark (Teresa) Hess, of Brandon, Fla., and Michael (Doreen) Hess, of Deltona, Fla.; her brother, Robert Dickson; and a sister, Lynn (Gary) Grindle, of Indiana, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her beautiful children provided her with 15 grandchildren, which in turn provided 12 great-grandchildren with more on the way. She was the beginning of such a large beautiful family and touched every single one of us and she will forever be remembered for that!
