Bobby Zima Obituary
Bobby "Brownie" Zima, 91, of Hutchinson, died peacefully, Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born July 8, 1927, in Monessen, a son of the late Frank and Yadwiga (Zajac) Zima. Bobby was a lifelong farmer on the Zima Brother's Farm and the Michael J. Zima Farms, in West Newton. Prior to retirement, he worked at Union Specialty Steel, in Verona, and Westmoreland Manor, in Greensburg. He was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie; a lifetime member of the Hutchinson Volunteer Fire Department; and Army veteran of World War II. Brownie was fondly called "Cowboy", "Unc", "Pappy" and "Buddy" by family friends and neighbors, and will be sadly missed. He was a wonderful husband and caregiver to his late wife, Pauline (Wyndroski) Zima, who preceded him in death March 24, 2011. He was also a great dad, and loved listening to Polkas, going to Polish picnics and his Stoney's. Surviving are a son, Michael Zima and wife, Laurie; a daughter, Carol Gracon and husband, Tom; a brother, Joseph Zima, all of West Newton; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Zima.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY Jr. FUNERAL HOME, 901 Vine St., West Newton, where a funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
