Consuelo M. Mitchell Obituary
Consuelo M. "Connie" Mitchell, 94, of Ligonier, formerly of Torrance, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Ligonier Gardens, Ligonier. She was born Feb. 28, 1923, Abasolo, Mexico, daughter of Trinidad Mireles and Dominga (Orozo) Mireles. She was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville. She was a former seamstress at Fours Co., Blairsville. Connie was a member of the CDA Court of St. Theresa No. 5821. She loved gardening, cooking, traveling and crocheting. She made many prayer shawls for the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ligonier, and also many afghans and baby blankets over the years. She also enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her sister, Julia Smith and husband, Henry, of Ligonier; brothers, Frank Mireles, of Detroit, Mich., and Jose Luis Mireles and wife, Helen, of Summersville, S.C.; God son, Nicolas Rovedatti; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Trinidad Mireles; mother, Dominga (Orozo) Mireles; husband, Arlington "Arlie" Mitchell, died June 1, 1998; brothers, Antonio, Cruez and Raymond Mireles; and sisters, Sarah and Mary Mireles.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., Blairsville. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville. Father Stephen R. Bugay will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 107 S. Market St., Ligonier, PA 15658, or Ligonier Gardens, 2018 Route 30 E., Ligonier, PA 15658. Interment will be at SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
