Jacqueline J. Gower Obituary
Jacqueline Jane (Ulery) Redding Gower, 85, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. Born Aug. 4, 1932, in Beaver Falls, to John and Florene Ulery, Jackie spent much of her youth pursuing her passion for riding horses. For more than three decades, she worked as an elder care nurse's aide, including at the Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. As a wife and mother, Jackie loved to travel in the family camper and spend time on her boat, and was happiest with the sun in her eyes and a fishing pole in her hands. She kept her grandchildren entertained for hours with cards and board games, and her love for animals included her shih Tzu, Maggie. Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Norman Eugene Gower; her children, Kimberly Eckenrode (Bill), Jaye Redding, Paula Greece (David), Vanessa Delynko (John Lewis) and Jill Giannone (John). She was predeceased by her son, James Phillip Redding (Dale). Jackie had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; as well as stepchildren, Valerie Milliron (Les), Norman "Kip" Gower (the late Elaine), Timothy Gower (Brenda Forsey), Eric Gower (Samantha) and Michael Gower (Anna).
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to The Bridges Foundation, which provides assistance for those who seek loving, palliative care through Bridges Hospice, as Jackie did during her final days. For online condolences, visit BarnhartFuneralHome.com.
