Joseph Garrick Obituary
Joseph Garrick passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, after a brief illness and a long battle with his mobility challenges. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army. After attending the University of Pittsburgh, he spent his career at the Elliott Co. working his way up to designer, and his career was highlighted by an award of a U.S. patent in his name. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and socializing with his friends. He never tired of reliving old memories with his friends from work and the Claridge American Legion. His later years were made so much richer by the tireless support and companionship of Fran Moose and Charlie Riddle. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Margaret. He is survived by sons, Lynn, and wife, Carlene, of Houston, Texas, and Doug and wife, Rose, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; grandchildren, Chris and wife, Brenda, of Houston, Texas, Joe, Jessica and Matt, of Rock Springs, Wyo; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Diamond, Jayla and Mia; sister, Betty Litrun; and brother, Harry. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, in the LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Inurnment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Joe's honor to the Claridge American Legion, 3002 Main St., Claridge, PA 15623.
