Leonard E. Dee Obituary
Leonard E. Dee, 91, of Westmoreland City, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late David and Margaret Laura (McMurtrie) Dee. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemarie (O'Brien) Dee, and his second wife, Pauline (Poljanic) Ash Dee; and siblings, Dorothy Olson and David Dee. Leonard was a retired field train master for the Union Railroad and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. Flying was his passion. Surviving are his children, Patricia Rocco, Diane Oakley, Robert Dee, Leonard E. Dee Jr., David J. Dee, Lawrence T. Dee, Kathleen Clark, Richard M. Dee and James Dee; stepchildren, Linda Costa, Gary Ash and Robert Ash; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200, where parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
