Louis J. DeBridge Obituary
Louis J. "Cheech" (Debrigida) DeBridge, 98, of Jeannette, passed away Monday, Sept. 10 ,2018, in Walden's View Personal Care, North Huntingdon. He was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Jeannette, a son of the late Pasquale and Marie DePalma DeBridge. Prior to his retirement, Lou was employed by the Elliott Co. in Jeannette with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy. Lou was a life member of Ascension Church Jeannette, where he served as an usher for many years, the American Legion Post No. 344, and was a former member of its Bowling League, the FOE No. 844 of Jeannette, and the Italian Club in Jeannette and was a former member of its Bocce League. In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Wegley (Debrigida) DeBridge; a son, John L. DeBridge; and brothers, Blace and Joseph DeBridge. He is survived by a brother, Vincent DeBridge and wife, Virginia, of Jeannette; a nephew, Vincent DeBridge Jr., of Woodbury, Minn.; a niece, Dena Roy and husband, Vince, of Greensburg; two great-nieces, Sophia and Angelina Roy; and his canine buddy, Eddie. Lou's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Redstone Hospice and Walden's View Personal Care Home for all of the kind and compassionate care that Lou received during his time there.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. 2nd St., Jeannette. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ascension Church with Father Paul A. Lisik as celebrant. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
