Mofalda Elda Obituary
We regret to announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, Mofalda "Moffa" Elda, 100, of Crabtree, on May 14, 2018, at RNC Pittsburgh, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 27, 1917, to the late Catherine and Sabatino Marcelli. Mother grew up in the depression era and did not have the opportunity to attend high school because of her mother's frail health. However, she was very wise and talented as shown in her Italian cooking and baking abilities. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, their Rosary Society and Fellowship group and Crabtree Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxilary. She was an avid bingo player and loved to go to the casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy J. Elda; sister, Lydia Diberadine; brothers, Herman, John, Gene, Christopher and Romeo Marcelli; and granddaughter-in-law, Michele Ungvarsky. She is survived by her children, Cecelia Ungvarsky and husband, John, and Janet Karas and husband, Richard, all of Greensburg, James Elda, of Crabtree, and Mary Ann Cantrell, of Paoli, Pa.; grandchildren, Michael Ungvarsky, of Greensburg, Lauren Elda, of Chicago, Ill., and Catie and Connor Ritchie, of Paoli; and numerous nieces and nephews.
