Nancy L. August Obituary
Nancy L. (Copelli) August, 78, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born Aug. 2, 1939, in Latrobe, she was a daughter of the late Emilio and Margaret (Kabana) Copelli. Nancy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and its Rosary Altar Christian Mothers. For several years, she was an active volunteer at the church, especially in the kitchen for the Lenten fish dinners, annual festival, and other luncheons and meals. She was a retired nurse's aide at Oak Hill Nursing Home and in the home health care industry. Nancy was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and St. Vincent DePaul and was an avid bingo player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. August; one brother, Robert E. Copelli Sr. (Sally); and three sisters, Evelyn Hantz (Fred), Louise Lattanzio (Sam), and Marion Rullo. Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Ann M. Waldron, and her husband, Doug, of Plainfield, Ill., and Jeanne M. Malnofsky, and her husband, Doug, of Latrobe; one brother, James Copelli, and his wife, Catherine, of Latrobe; a brother-in-law, Dominick Rullo, of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Amanda Malnofsky, Brittany Waldron, and Anthony Waldron; and she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. The St. John Rosary Altar Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a prayer service held by the St. Vincent DePaul Society. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Church, with the Rev. Anthony Carbone as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
