Ruth Walter Obituary
Ruth "Enid" Walter, 100, of Manor, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. She was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Manor, a daughter of the late Charles B. and Hazel (Kifer) Walter. She was a lifetime member of United Church of Christ in Manor, where she conducted Sunday school opening services, served as treasurer, and was involved in the Women's Guild, Senior Choir and famous annual Christmas bazaar and dinner event. She proudly served as chairperson of the Manor Community Annual Picnic held at Idewild Park for over 30 years. She retired from the accounts payable department of Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, writing poems, canning and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clive (Bonny) Walter and Clement "Buster" Walter; infant sister, Irene; and sister, Edith "Marie" Walter. She is survived by her brothers, Howard Walter and Harry (MaryAnn) Walter, both of Manor; nieces, Carol, Linda and Sandra; nephews, Randy and Terry; a great-niece; a great-great-niece; and great-great-nephew.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200. Everyone will gather at 11 a.m. at the funeral home Tuesday for a funeral service with Pastor Diane Wiley officiating. Interment will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery in Irwin.
