Scarlett M. Stein

Scarlett Marie Stein, 17, of Jeannette, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, in the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born April 17, 1999, in Greensburg, a daughter of Tubby and Dody Neal Stein. Scarlett was a senior at the Jeannette High School. She was an avid softball player, starting in the sport she loved at the age of 4. She played for the Jeannette High Schools Girls softball team, and her traveling team, the Nitro, for the past seven years, playing throughout many states. Recently, Scarlett signed a letter of intent to continue her education and play softball for Penn State. She was a member of the Ascension Church Jeannette. Scarlett enjoyed music and spending time with her boyfriend, her friends and especially her family. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Albert Stein Sr.; and an uncle, Albert Stein Jr. In addition to her parents, Scarlett is survived by a sister, Grace Marie Stein; her maternal grandparents, Marie and Dave Neal, of Jeannette; her paternal grandmother, Diane Fox, of Jeannette; aunts and uncles, Deana Burge and husband, Troy, of Centerville, Kim Ohler, of Latrobe, John Stein, of Virginia, Paul Stein, of North Carolina, Darron Jacobs and wife, Dawn, of Latrobe, Judith Stein, Mark Stein, both of Jeannette, Eddie Stein, of Penn, and Dustie Loughner, of North Carolina; a step-grandmother, Cheryl Stein, of Penn; her boyfriend, Brandon Treasure, of Greensburg; and numerous cousins.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ascension Church with Father Paul A. Lisik as celebrant. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Interment will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
