William J. Henderson Jr. Obituary
William J. Henderson Jr., 64, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at his home, with his loving family by his side. William was born Aug. 23, 1954, in Charleroi, the son of the late William J. and Lois Trettel Henderson. He was a 1973 graduate of California Area High School, an Air Force veteran, receiving the Armed Forces, National Defense, Kosovo Campaign and Humanitarian Service medals, retiring after serving 24 years. He then began employment with SCI-Fayette, retiring as a maintenance supervisor. William was a member of the Wooddale Bible Brethren Church and the Corvette Club of Western Pennsylvania. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Gloria Williams Henderson; children, William J. "B.J." Henderson III (Angela), of Lynchburg, Va., Chris Henderson, of Oxnard, Calif., Devon Seeley (Steve), of Martin, Ga., Tony Henderson (Heather), of Claridge, and Carol Phipps (Steven), of Connellsville; 13 grandchildren and numerous foster children; sisters, Cindy Guiler (Bob), of Roscoe, and Pat Steckler (Ed), of Sandy Lake, and sister-in-law, Vicki Knabenshue, of Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren; and numerous foster children.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wooddale Bible Brethren Church, 982 Pleasant Valley Road, Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Geary Witt officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 446, Mt. Pleasant, will be in the Greenlick Cemetery.
