Kent W. Otwell Sr. Obituary
Kent W. "Wayne" Otwell Sr., 76, of Harrison City, died peacefully Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Lifecare Hospital, Wilkinsburg, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Lousiana, a son of the late Carl and Doris (Martin) Otwell. Prior to retiring, Wayne was employed as a welder by General Motors. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was very important to Wayne. He also enjoyed doing many things outdoors, including gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Glenn. Wayne will be sadly missed by his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Patricia (Haley) Otwell; daughter, Ginger Brucker (Donald), of Plum; son, Kent Otwell Jr. (Elise), of Level Green; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe, Karen, Butch and Judi; sister, Sybil Fry, of Louisiana; and numerous niece and nephews. Wayne was the very proud grandfather of Tyler, Hanna, Madisyn, Kylee, Nathan, Jake and Cory, all of whom will especially miss him.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. A blessing service for Wayne will be conducted at noon Wednesday in the funeral home, with Father Nick Vaskov officiating. Interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, DeImont, will be private.
