Valorie J. Brinker Obituary
Valorie J. (DeForno) Brinker, 72, of Export, passed away peacefully Friday, May 11, 2018, in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville, with her beloved family by her side. She was born July 2, 1945, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Marion and Mary DeForno. Immediately after graduating from high school, Valorie was hired by the Selective Service in Washington, D.C., a job she was very proud of. She most recently retired from Ferri Pharmacy, Murrysville. She was foremost a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. The most important thing in her life was her family and the special times she spent with them. She enjoyed exercising, flower gardening and reading. She was also a daredevil, nature lover, a breast cancer survivor, a kind and caring welcoming soul, but also a fighter in what she believed was fair, among so many other things. Valorie will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 51 years, Donald L. Brinker Sr.; children, Donald L. Brinker Jr., of Export; Brenda Bootes (Rodney), of Erie; and Michelle Osikowicz (Shawn), of Export; siblings, Donald DeForno, of Apollo, Louella Lynn, of Florida, Patricia Leonard, of Saltsburg, Betty Pierce (Edgar), of Dilltown, George DeForno (Naomi), of Saltsburg, Shirley Clutts (Phil), of North Carolina, Sally Lawrence (Malcolm), of Maryland, Daniel DeForno (Becky), of Saltsburg, Kathy Grablowski (Ron), of Florida, and Mary Summers (Steve), of Montana; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Valorie will be especially missed by her grandsons, Brandon, Tyler, Chad, Cody, Nicholas, Nathan and Nolan, all of whom she treasured.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177.
