James A. Marinelli Obituary
James A. "Jim" Marinelli, 90, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband for 61 years of Kathryn (Dinnocenzo) Marinelli; cherished and loving father of daughter, Rosemary Cercone (Paul), and son, James. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Emma (Bartolomucci) Marinelli, and brother of Josephine Supin (late Tony), Donald Marinelli (Bernice), the late John Marinelli (late Jewell); and deceased infant siblings, Ernest, Louis, Armand and Frances Marinelli. He was the brother-in-law of the late Rose Rossetti (late Frank), Flora Dinnocenzo, the late Sandra (Dinnocenzo) Kuretich (late Joseph), Patsy, John (Edith) and the late Anthony (late Mary) Dinnocenzo. Jim was born and raised in White Valley and served his country honorably during the Korean War. He worked for 43 years as a machinist at Westinghouse Air Brake Company in Wilmerding. Jim was known to his friends and family as one who loved to chat, was quick with a joke and a laugh, who enjoyed polkas and whose passion for gardening and cooking and his overall "fix-it" skills were surpassed only by his devotion to the family he cherished. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont (Woodside Place and The Willows), for their gentle care and support for Jim over the past year.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. A funeral Mass for Jim will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, 497 Athena Drive, Delmont, with Father Ken Zaccagnini, of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, as celebrant. Everyone please meet at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations in Jim's memory to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, https://curealz.org/. To send online expressions of sympathy, obtain grief support information or directions, please visit www.VaiaFuneralHome.com.
