Francis S. Kozak Obituary
Francis S. "Frank" Kozak, 81, of Delmont, died peacefully Wednesday, July 11, 2018, surrounded by his beloved family and friends. He was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Rankin, a son of the late Francis Kozak and Anna (Baverso) Kozak Mrakuzich. Prior to retiring, Frank was self-employed for 35 years as an auto body repairman, having been the owner of Kozak's Auto Body, Latrobe. He was an Air Force mechanic and worked on fighter jets. Frank was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City. He loved his family, horses and horseback riding. At one time, he owned five horses. Frank was an avid Steelers fan. He was a member of American Legion, Post 981, South Greensburg. Frank was a mentor to several young boys over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Colleen Kozak Mark. Frank will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 57 years this August, Patricia "Pat" (Dougherty) Kozak; children, Joyce Kozak Anderson (Ron), of Wylie, Texas, Patricia "Patty" Piatt (Todd), of Sewickley, and Donna Hornicak (Michael), of North Huntingdon; and dear friends. Frank will be especially missed by his grandchildren, Christopher Spivey (Laura), Michelle Knoeckel, Nicholas Mark, Gianna Piatt, Elizabeth Hornicak, Nicholas Hornicak and Shane Hornicak; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Julian, Caden Spivey, Shayla Watson, Lacie Watson, Wyatt Spivey and Coleton Watson, all of whom he was very proud.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. A funeral Mass for Frank will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Barbara Catholic Church, 34 Raymaley Road, Harrison City, PA 15636, with Father Michael Sikon as celebrant. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment with full military honors accorded by VFW Post 33 Honor Guard, Greensburg, will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
