Virgil Lasich Obituary
Virgil "Daniel" Lasich, 90, of Delmont, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Dane and Olga (Anderson) Lasich. Daniel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a railroad conductor. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Daniel was a longtime member of Elks No. 577, American Legion and VFW. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Lasich, and sister, Virginia Miller. Daniel will be greatly missed by his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Corinne (Milewski) Lasich; sons, Steven Lasich, of Delmont, and Mark Lasich and his wife Robin, of Level Green; brother, LeRoy Lasich (Margot); sister, Lois Miller (Charles); and a number of nieces and nephews. Daniel was the very proud grandfather of Heather Lasich and Benjamin Lasich.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. Funeral services for Daniel will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Raptosh of Faith United Methodist Church, Delmont, officiating. Interment will full military honors accorded by VFW Post 33 Honor Guard, Greensburg, will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
