Mark Auer Obituary

Mark A. Auer, 57, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully in his sleep while holding his daughter Holly's hand, Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, in UPMC Presbyterian Oakland. He was the son of the late Louis V. and Marjorie L. Bullock Auer. Mark worked as a specialized machinist in Greensburg and also traveled all of the states. He was a social member of Kecksburg Volunteer Firemen's Club and Shaft Citizens Club. He was an avid golfer and fisherman who enjoyed all activities that brought him outside. Mark had a knack for making people smile; this was reflected in the hand carved gifts he would create for them. He is survived by his children, Holly L. (Daniel) Lytle, of Chester, Va., and Mark A. Auer Jr., of New Stanton, to whom he was a loving father and their mother, Paula Jean Balcerek. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hayden, Dylan and Payton Lytle; and siblings, Louise (Michael) Waltenburg, of Greenville, N.C., Louis Auer, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Victoria Auer, of Calumet, Maruice (Maureen) Auer, of Greensburg, Karl Auer and his girlfriend, Chrissy Leonard, of Greensburg, John (Norene) Auer, of Mammoth, Lynette (Lee) Lowe, of Stahlstown, Fred (Heather) Auer, of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Mary Auer and her fiance, Ron Stahl, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with 3 p.m. wake service in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, Rev. Richard K. Kosisko, celebrant, with blessing service at 9:10 a.m. in the funeral home. Bless your family at this time. No matter what we say nothing can help the pain you feel at this time of your loss. Youre speechless but your tears and face expressions show your sorrow. In time your hearts will mend but there will always be a place in your hearts for the loss of your love one. Mark was a great guy. He was a very generous and caring man.
