Margaret Opsitnick Obituary

Margaret E. Opsitnick, 80, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born Nov. 21, 1923, in Forbes Road, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Pochivnyak Estok. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, the Rosary Altar Society and past president of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, Branch 277. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John E. Opsitnick Sr.; six children, Betty Almario and husband, Jesse, of Maryland, Joanne Spanos and husband, George, of Greensburg, John E. Opsitnick Jr., of Delaware, Mark Opsitnick and wife, Dina, of Greensburg, David Opsitnick, of Greensburg, and Jeffrey Opsitnick, of California; nine grandchildren, Aggelige Spanos, Alethea Randazza and husband, Ryan, Demitrios Spanos, Nicholas Almario, James Almario, Mia Piansay, Natalie Opsitnick, Steven Opsitnick and Alexandra Opsitnick; three great-grandchildren, Jackie, Mark and James Piansay; two brothers, George Estok and wife, Anita, of Forbes Road, and William Estok and wife, Helen, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Margaret in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, 724-837-0020, Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.
