Elizabeth J. "Betty" Krivoniak, 81, of Hempfield Township, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Matthew and Anna (Staschak) Ulishney. Betty was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg, and its rosary society. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an amazing cook and detailed cleaner, loved her gardening and most of all, loved all her children and grandchildren. Betty also enjoyed conversing with all the neighborhood walkers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Krivoniak; two brothers, Eugene and Matthew Ulishney; and two sisters, Margaret Kubecki and Dolores Mickinak. She is survived by five children, Joseph Krivoniak III and Toni Morgan, of Greensburg, Leonard Krivoniak and wife, Christine, of Littlestown, Debora Sheetz and husband, David, of Greensburg, Nicholas Krivoniak and wife, Kristin, of Greensburg, and Lynda Krivoniak and boyfriend, Brian Merrill, of Bridgeport, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas, of Greensburg, and Ronald Ulishney, of Latrobe; a sister, Mary Ann Brant, of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Parting prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Regis J. Dusecina as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. Parastas service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
