Charles W. Kinkead Jr. Obituary
Charles W. "Chuck" Kinkead Jr., 93, of Washington Township, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at AHN-Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Born July 15, 1924, in Greensburg, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth (McKlveen) Kinkead Sr. Chuck moved to Washington Township in 1950 and was a 1942 graduate of Greensburg High School, 1949 graduate of Clarion State Teacher's College and obtained his Masters Degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. In between his high school and college years, he proudly served our country with the Army during World War II. Chuck worked as an English teacher for the Washington Township and Kiski Area School Districts for 32 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vandergrift. Chuck was an avid Steelers and University of Pittsburgh fan and enjoyed gardening and going on casino trips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd and Ralph Kinkead; and his sister, Anna Jane Washabau. Chuck is survived by his wife of 68 years, W. Jane (Clark) Kinkead; children, William "Bill" (Angie Fielder) Kinkead, of Grove City, Ohio, Becky (Jim) Keevican, of Clarion, Bob Kinkead, of Washington Township, and Katie (Tim) Dietz, of Butler; grandchildren, Derek Dietz, of Palmyra, Lauren Dietz, of Butler; brother, Edwin (Cathy) Kinkead, of The Villages, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from noon until the hour of service at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, with Pastor Sara Wrona officiating. Private interment will be in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg, at the convenience of the family.
