Frank T. Rodnicki Obituary
Frank T. Rodnicki, 92, of Apollo, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at AHN-Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Born Feb. 4, 1925, in Kiski Township, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Rosalia (Oleskiv) Rodnicki. Frank lived in the Apollo area all of his life, and proudly served in our military with the Marines during World War II in the South Pacific Theater, Solomon Islands and the Philippines. He worked as a coalminer for more than 40 years with Leechburg Mining and R&P Mining in Brownstown, retiring in 1991. Frank was a member of Spring Church Lutheran Church, Apollo Area Lions Club, Kiski Township Grange, Kiski Township American Legion and the UMWA. He enjoyed reading novels and watching Westerns. But Frank most loved spending time his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Stephen, Charles, Nicholas and Anthony Rodnicki. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, May Y. (Fiscus) Rodnicki; children, Frank T. "Ted" (Marjorie) Rodnicki, of Toledo, Ohio, Ron M. Rodnicki, of Apollo, Lauren S. Woods, of Apollo, and Gregory A. Rodnicki, of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Ted (Debra) Rodnicki, Steve, Matt and Dan Rodnicki and Rachel, Ashley and Tim Woods; great-grandchildren, Carter, Chloe and Brayden; and many nieces and nephews.
At Frank's request, all services are private and have been entrusted to the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., Apollo.
