Fumie Mathieson Obituary
Fumie "Amy" (Ohtsuka) Mathieson, 84, of Kittanning, formerly of Gilpin Township, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning. A daughter of the late Bunji Otsuka and Mino (Koyama) Otsuka, she was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Tokyo, Japan. Fumie was employed as a cook with the former Bonello's Restaurant and Lenape Heights Country Club. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed tending to her plants, knitting and crocheting, making dolls and cooking for her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Marilyn Brock (Christopher), of Manorville, N.Y., and Kathleen Mathieson, of Aldie, Va.; three grandchildren, Larissa Meletti, Shane Roscher and Braeden Roscher; and a great-grandson, Maddox Meletti. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur L. Mathieson.
Friends will be welcomed by her family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at CLAWSON FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, where funeral ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, with Pastor Jonathan Potter officiating. Interment will follow at Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, 253 Forks Church Road, Gilpin Township.
