George P. Jordan Obituary
George P. Jordan, 81, of South Buffalo Township, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by family. George was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Kittanning, a son of the late Elizabeth (Beuchner) and James W. Jordan. He was an active member of Union Baptist Church in Kittanning. He was a production supervisor at Moonlight Mushroom in Worthington for 32 years. He also was a South Buffalo Township supervisor for a number of years. George enjoyed hunting and fixing anything mechanical, especially cars and lawn mowers. But above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George is survived by his wife of 60 years, June L. (Crawford) Jordan; three sons, George (Jennifer) Jordan Jr., of Freeport, Timothy (Teresa) Jordan, of Freeport, and Michael (Victoria) Jordan, of Freeville, N.Y.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Lucille (Ralph) Love, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Ruth Ann Howard, of Sugar Creek Township. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and J. Edward Jordan; and sister, Mary Smith.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Visitation will continue from 10 until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Union Baptist Church, 475 Church Road Ext., Kittanning, with Pastor Jonathan Hill officiating. Burial will be held in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.
