Joseph S. Vnuk Obituary
Joseph S. Vnuk, 88, of Parks Township, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in QLS West Haven Manor, Washington Township. Born Dec. 15, 1929, in Avonmore, he was a son of the late Martin and Veronika (Marz) Vnuk. Joseph was a 1944 graduate of Vandergrift High School and lived most of his life in Parks Township. He retired in 1980 from Wean United in Vandergrift, where he had been employed as a molder for 32 years. Joseph was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean War. He had been a member of the VFW Post 566 and American Legion Post 114, in Vandergrift; American Legion Post 868 in Lower Burrell and the Apollo Elks. He was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, in East Vandergrift. He enjoyed golfing, polka dancing, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis and Wendall Vnuk; sisters, Florence (Arthur) Pohl, Margaret (William) Faust, Mary (John) DeFloria, Helen (Raleigh) Freeman and Ann (Gusty) Teeters. Joseph is survived my numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, with Father Michael Sciberras officiating. Private burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift. Arrangements have been entrusted to the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., Vandergrift.
