Maxine Gans Obituary

Maxine F. Gans Maxine was born January 1, 1919 in Bucoda, WA, and passed away April 24, 2011. She was the first daughter of Frances and Morris Lee. Upon her marriage to Charles they moved to Tacoma. Charlie and Maxine lived in Tacoma until 1979, when they returned to their farm in Tenino, WA. While in Tacoma she enjoyed bowling in many leagues, playing cards with her special friends, and visiting with friends and neighbors. Maxine continued to live on the farm until just a few months before her passing, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of country life. She continued to bowl into her eighties, and enjoyed visiting the local casinos and watching the Mariners with anticipation of a winning season. She is survived by her son Alan (Toni) and special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, and sisters Fontelle Howard and Elvina Robertson. We would like to thank her special neighbors Rick and Linda, Phil and Laura, and Tracy and Cindy for all of their help while she was on the farm, and the staff at Welcome Home at Savannah Ridge in Puyallup for their excellent care. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 30th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Grove Cemetery, Tenino, WA. The family suggests remembrances to the Tenino Food Bank, PO Box 1239, Tenino, WA, or the Bucoda Community Foundation, PO Box 365, Bucoda, WA 98530. Arrangements under the direction of Newell-Hoerlings, Centralia, WA.

Gans Family,

My parents grew up in Tenino and Skookumchuck. The Dropalski farm was very close and I think may have shared a boundary line with the Gans farm. After hearing about Maxine and Charlie for years, I finally got to meet Maxine about 2 years ago. She invited my brother and me inside the house and we got to visit for a while. She was such a nice lady and had such a great sense of humor that I wished I had met her much sooner. She will be missed a great deal. Thinking of you during this time of sorrow.
