WINSTON BLAKEY Obituary

Winston Randolph Blakey Winston R. "Randy" Blakey, 73, a longtime resident of Washington State, ascended to God's heavenly gates November 17th, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. Randy was born in Covington, VA, to Winston and Mary Blakey April 17th, 1936. Randy grew up in Covington, VA as the eldest of 6 children. After graduating from Watson High School, he enlisted and retired from the U.S. Air Force (23 years) and the City of Tacoma (10 years). Whereas Randy battled Parkinson's disease for almost 30 years, he never let it get in the way of his Ham Radios, love of bologna, Tootsie Pops, and football. He was preceded in death by his parents Winston and Mary, and siblings Barbara Ann and Paul. He is survived by his children Carma Renninger (Harry) of New Jersey, Rea Blakey of Maryland, Brian and Paul (Gabriella) Blakey of New Mexico, and Hallie Blakey of Washington; grandchildren Blake and Blair Crosby of Maryland; sisters Pat Collins, Doris Banks (Walker), and Rose Wilson of Illinois and Cathy Blakey of Washington; many nieces, nephews, and godchildren, whom he loved very much. Interment service will be held 12/3/2009 Tahoma Nat'l Cemetery, 10:15, with memorial service to follow at Shiloh Baptist Church of Tacoma at noon.
